Anna’s Baptism

IMG_0275

Not only did Sunday, January 18th mark the 17th anniversary of my salvation, but it will now also be the anniversary date of my oldest daughter Anna’s baptism.

Anna confessed that she was a sinner and asked Jesus to save her while we were attending a mission conference in Erie, PA on October 12, 2014.

Just last week, out of nowhere she ran into the living room and said, “Daddy, daddy, I have great news!” Of course, I asked what it was.  I figured she was going to tell me that she had found a lost toy or won at a game she was playing, but instead, to my surprise,  she said, “I love Jesus, and I get to go to Heaven one day!”

When I asked her how she knew that to be true, she just simply looked at me with a “Daddy don’t you remember my prayer?” look on her face and said, “Because Jesus loves me, and He gave me a new clean heart!”

I am so thankful for all God has done for her and am praying now for Joshua and Abigail to come to the same saving knowledge of Christ at a young age.

That’s precious. That thrills a parent’s heart. What a blessing it is to grow up in a loving, Christian home and be taught God’s Word from the start. I was thinking this same thing today, and praising the Lord that I was brought up to know and love the Lord. What a wonderful heritage.
